Is this legal?

Yeah, I wondered that too. Can you just not take your kids to school and keep them at home? Won't someone come asking about why they are home?


I researched this because I don't like the idea of doing something illegal :) And I found out that every state is different, and Kansas is one of the best states to homeschool in. What we had to do was:


1. Register as a private school in the state of Kansas online, which is free. We are "Faith Christian Academy".
2. Have "scheduled" and "planned" lessons. I do this by keeping a book of what we have covered that week.


It is also suggested to join the Home School Legal Defense Association for $115 per year. That way if someone does come knocking at your door because they don't understand the laws then you can "call your lawyer" and they are available to us to help.
